Shea butter is an amazing, natural moisturizer with many health benefits. Now, I am not talking about overprocessed shea butter, I am talking about raw and unrefined shea butter. That is the butter with all the bells and whistles. When I started making body butter in my early to mid-twenties, I was amazed at how it changed my skin. Skin that was once uneven, dry, and blotchy became soft, smooth, and even in a matter of weeks. I remember looking in the mirror back at myself wondering why I never used this stuff years before.

I am almost 40 years old and I still get mistaken to be in my 20s from time to time. People are often shocked when I tell them my secret for ageless skin: shea and cocoa butter. So what are the other advantages or benefits of shea butter besides smooth, younger, and healthy-looking skin? I listed a few more below. If you do not believe me, please do some research for yourself. You do not have to take my word for it.

  1. Using shea butter instead of shaving cream to shave will not only prevent cuts, but it will also help reduce ingrown hairs.

  2. Got a bruise you need to fade quickly? Rub some shea butter on it and watch it fade away while healing the skin that was bruised.

  3. If you plan on being outside and end up getting bit by a bug or mosquito, rub some shea butter on the bite to minimize the itching, swelling, and scarring.

  4. If you or someone you know struggles with dry skin, eczema, or psoriasis and take medicine for it, apply some shea butter to damp skin to help seal in moisture. This will allow the medicine to seep into the skin better which will help alleviate the harsh symptoms from these skin conditions.

  5. Got a dry, itchy scalp? Apply some shea butter. This will heal a dry and cracked scalp without clogging up the pores.

Here is to skin that glows and shows!
